I've never liked the whole act of writing in a journal. Much less the act of writing a journal publicly. Why do other people need to know about how my day is going or what i did? But to hell with it, here goes. I woke up today to go directly to school, because doing anything else (like eating, drinking coffee, and reading the newspaper) would cut into my sleep time. I'm anticipating I'll be doing some homework later in the day, but other than that i haven't a thing to do... it's my day off. Well that's all you get from Evan today, until next time...

Evan, I agree. I think public journals (that is, the content of a private journal made public, filled with the various small dramas of people's lives) might not be a very worthwhile endeavor. At the same time, trying to reflect on the events of your life in such a way that they might provide insight, information, or maybe even wisdom, can be a transformative activity for the writer and reader alike. What's more, contributing to a blog is, to some extent, contributing to a global body of knowledge that can contain everything, from the most mundane trip to the grocery store, to the most profound philosophical revelation.
